There are a handful of prospects the Minnesota Vikings would love to take with the 18th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. But what would the team do if all of their targets were already off the board?

The NFL Draft is a great watch for many reasons. One being the hope that a prospect your favorite team needs or wants falls to into their laps. Fans hold their breath for basically every draft selection that is announced, hoping that another team doesn’t swipe the player they want for their favorite squad.

The Minnesota Vikings have major needs on their offensive line heading into the draft this April. There are a plethora of prospects who could fill this need of theirs. But what would the Vikings do if a run on offensive lineman occurred early in the draft and all of those players were off the board by the time it comes for Minnesota to make their first pick?

We will take a look at the Vikings’ worst case scenario for the first-round of this year’s draft and what options the they could go with instead if presented with such an unfortunate series of events.

This is how the worst case first-round would unfold for Minnesota in the 2019 draft.

  1. Arizona Cardinals – Kyler Murray
  2. San Francisco 49ers – Nick Bosa
  3. New York Jets – Qunnien Williams
  4. Oakland Raiders – Josh Allen
  5. Tampa Bay Bucs – Devin White
  6. New York Giants – Rashan Gary
  7. Jacksonville Jaguars – Jawaan Taylor
  8. Detroit Lions – Montez Sweat
  9. Buffalo Bills – D.K. Metcalf
  10. Denver Broncos – Drew Lock
  11. Cincinnati Bengals – Devin Bush
  12. Green Bay Packers – Jonah Williams
  13. Miami Dolphins – Dwayne Haskins
  14. Atlanta Falcons – Ed Oliver
  15. Washington Redskins – Garrett Bradbury
  16. Carolina Panthers – Andre Dillard
  17. New York Giants – Cody Ford

With this outcome, the Vikings would be on the clock with none of the top offensive linemen still available to take. So let’s take a look at what Minnesota’s options would be if this ended up actually happening.
