Running back has jumped to the upper portion of the needs list for the Minnesota Vikings as they head into the 2019 Draft. Here’s a comparison of a couple of bigger backs the team could consider in rounds 2-4.

With Latavius Murray leaving for the New Orleans Saints in free agency and the future of Roc Thomas looking very much in doubt after his arrest, the Minnesota Vikings suddenly find themselves in need of another running back.

The Vikings do have talent on the depth chart in Dalvin Cook and Mike Boone. The problem is that Cook can’t stay healthy and Boone is untested. They did re-sign Ameer Abdullah, but he will be looked at as more of a return man.

Running back has shot way up the Vikings needs list and it’s very likely the team could consider drafting one as early as round two. Minnesota could look for a power runner type back to replace Latavius Murray and the tough yards he was able to get.

This battle will feature Iowa State’s David Montgomery and Alabama’s Damien Harris head to head in many different categories to see which of these bruising running backs the Vikings should consider taking in the 2019 NFL Draft.
