5 wide receivers the Vikings could select in the 2019 NFL Draft
By Matt Falk
Riley Ridley (Georgia)
Measurements:
- Height: 6-foot-1 | Weight: 199 pounds
2018 Stats:
- 43 catches, 559 yards (13.0 average), 9 touchdowns
If the name sounds familiar it should. Riley is the younger brother of the Atlanta Falcons’ 2018 first-round selection Calvin Ridley. So is he as good as Calvin? No. At least not yet.
While Riley is a little bigger, he has yet to put it all together out on the field. The former Georgia receiver brings good hands, toughness, and solid route running. Don’t put too much into his stats, as they don’t do his abilities justice as he finished his career at Georgia with just 70 receptions, 1,026 yards, and 13 touchdowns.
Ridley has been a hot name in the weeks leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft and a team could reach on him in hopes of him reaching his full potential. If the Vikings were going to show interest it would have to be in the area of round three, and even then he could possibly already be off the board.
Ridley would be a nice compliment to Diggs and Thielen and he would most likely find himself as the Minnesota’s No. 3 receiver as a rookie.
