Jawaan Taylor – OT (Florida)

The consensus among the Minnesota Vikings fan base is that the team needs an offensive lineman or two to prevent last year’s disaster from happening again. For many, that would mean pouncing on the best available lineman prospect when the Vikings are on the clock.

Odds are that Taylor will be off the board by the 18th overall pick, but that doesn’t mean that Minnesota fans can’t dream. Taylor is by most accounts a great run blocker and pass blocker and should be athletic enough to perform in the zone blocking scheme that the Vikings want to implement this season.

Taylor did not work out at the NFL combine outside of the bench press according to Player Profiler, but his tape shows a player that can lock up his defender on passing plays while also getting to the outside to create a path on a running play.

Having another athletic tackle to pair with Brian O’Neill would be a huge win for the Minnesota Vikings and create a bookend combination that could be dominant for years to come.
