The Vikings got their tackle in the first round, but one of the biggest issues with the offensive line a year ago was the lack of depth. With just Danny Isidora and Josh Kline on the roster (pending a potential move of Riley Reiff to guard), Minnesota will be looking to add depth on the inside and possibly have an heir apparent down the road.

Those factors would make Samia a huge get for the Minnesota Vikings in the third round as a guard that has plenty of experience running a zone-blocking scheme at Oklahoma. While Samia’s lack of size and strength could be a concern, his traits are good enough to be more of a project as he gets into an NFL strength training program.

Such a situation is reminiscent of how the Vikings stumbled into O’Neill in the second round last year. Although he was lacking size and still raw after transitioning from tight end in college, O’Neill got in the weight room and was arguably Minnesota’s best lineman once he cracked the starting lineup. If the same story plays out with Samia, it’s another big boost for the offensive line.
