Kelvin Harmon – WR (NC State)

There is no doubt the Vikings will be drafting a wide receiver at some point in the 2019 NFL Draft. If they do it in round two, a great fit could be North Carolina State’s, Kelvin Harmon.

Harmon stands 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 220 pounds. He definitely uses that big frame to his advantage when he goes up and battles for a contested ball. He can box out his man and high point the ball and has a knack for coming down with his feet in bounds.

Harmon ran a 4.6 40-yard dash at the 2019 combine and that’s a pretty good time for a man his size. He isn’t a burner but is fast enough to outrun most defensive backs. Harmon is a physical wideout who plays with confidence and a bit of cockiness.

One thing Minnesota fans would love about this guy is that he has extremely reliable mitts. Harmon has big, powerful hands and rarely drops a pass, unlike a certain Vikings receiver who shall remain nameless for now.

Harmon’s route tree didn’t have a lot of branches during his time as a member of the Wolf Pack, but that should be fine with Minnesota. His game is going up and battling for the football in red zone situations or making a tough catch when guys are blanketing him. That is exactly what the Vikings need in their third wide receiver.

If Harmon is on the board in round two, there is a good chance he ends up in purple and he would then be considered the favorite to be the team’s number three option in the passing game for the 2019 season.
