Experience

Dre’Mont Jones played defensive tackle in 37 games in his Buckeye career. Omenihu played in 48 career games at Texas but 21 of those were at defensive end, leaving him at 27 playing inside. So while Omenihu does have more total career games played, he is less experienced at the position many teams envision him playing in the pros. So with some controversy, Jones gets his first win.

Advantage: Jones

Character

Omenihu has no issues when it comes to his character and he seems to be just a good human off the field as he is a player on it. Dre’Mont Jones also appears to be a clean prospect with no concerns about his character. So this one is clearly a tie.

Advantage: Push

Results and Analysis

Omenihu takes this head to head 4-1-2. This former Texas Longhorn is first and foremost an intimidating human with rare size and athletic ability.

He can stop the run as well as provide loads and loads of interior pressure. That is exactly what the Minnesota Vikings need; a penetrator at the three-technique position next to Linval Joseph who can blow up teams’ plays and create a ruckus in the backfield.

While either of these guys would be great choices by the Vikings in the second round this year, Omenihu’s ceiling is much higher and he can just do more things than Jones can.
