Terrill Hanks (New Mexico State)

Measureables:

Height: 6-foot-2 | Weight: 235 pounds

2018 Stats:

  • 101 total tackles (33 solo), 1 sack
  • 2 pass breakups, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble

Much like Eric Wilson, Hanks is an interesting prospect because he transitioned from safety to linebacker during his senior year at New Mexico State. What transpired was a super aggressive tackler willing to run through walls to make a play, but also one that has his share of mistakes both in coverage and in tackling.

Despite his flaws, Hanks does just enough in those areas to become an intriguing prospect. His best fit would be on the weak side of a 4-3 scheme and that would suit well for Mike Zimmer’s defense.

Even if Hanks has to take another year or two to learn the nuances of playing linebacker in the NFL, he could provide special teams value and be a long-term project that could pay off for the Minnesota defense.
