The teams the Minnesota Vikings will face during the 2019 preseason have been announced and it looks like it will be an interesting group of opponents.

With the 2019 NFL season approaching, more information continues to be released about other aspects of the upcoming season. That means details like who the Minnesota Vikings will be playing during the preseason will become known.

On Tuesday, Apr. 9, the Minnesota Vikings shared the teams they will be playing as well as the date range when those contests will be happening on their official website.

Here are the teams the Vikings will be going up against during the 2019 preseason.

Week 1: @ New Orleans Saints  (Aug. 8-12)

Fans of the Minnesota Vikings don’t need to be told about the history between these two teams. There has been enough drama and intrigue to tie these two franchises together for many years to come. Add in that several free agents from Minnesota now play for New Orleans and you have a game which should be quite interesting…for a preseason contest.

Week 2: vs. Seattle Seahawks, 7 p.m. (CT)  (Aug. 18)

It seems the Vikings will finally host the Seahawks! Sadly, this doesn’t seem to happen in the regular season of playoffs. What makes this matchup interesting other than the status of Russell Wilson is the fact the two teams will play again later in the year when the Vikings head to Seattle for a regular season matchup.

Week 3: vs. Arizona Cardinals (Aug. 22-25)

This could be the dress rehearsal game for rookie quarterback Kyler Murray if the Cardinals decide to go that route. Plus, it’s always nice to see Larry Fitzgerald return to town, even if he might not suit up for the contest. But it will be fun to look at Arizona’s new offense under head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Week 4: @ Buffalo Bills  (Aug. 29)

Minnesota should have the embarrassing Week 3 loss to the Bills on their mind during this game, even if it is just the preseason. However, heading to Buffalo in August will be a great opportunity to get a final look at many of the roster bubble players and get final evaluations when it comes to position battles and roster spots.
