6. Wes Hamilton, G – 1976

When talking about some of the best players in the history of the Minnesota Vikings franchise, the name Wes Hamilton falls through the cracks, and it definitely shouldn’t considering all his contributions to the team.

Expectations for Hamilton seemed to be tapered within the organization as he eased into playing guard. However, when filling in for injured teammates, he impressed enough to earn a starting role with the squad.

Hamilton ended up starting 92 games for the Vikings in his nine seasons with the Vikings, playing in a total of 116 contests where he locked down the right guard spot on the offensive line from 1978 to 1983.

In fact, having Hamilton this low on the list might be considered a disservice considered the number of years he was a solid starter for the team. But these days, he is the owner of an Allegra Marketing, Print & Mail location near Minneapolis.
