Week 9

Kansas City Chiefs (Away)

  • Date: Sunday, November 3
  • Time: 1 p.m. EST
  • TV: FOX

Could this be a Super Bowl preview? If the Vikings are actually sitting with a 7-1 record and the Chiefs are off to another impressive start to their season, it very well could be a preview of Super Bowl 54.

Luckily for Minnesota, they will have the advantage of having a few extra days of rest after playing on a Thursday in Week 8. As for Kansas City, they will be coming off a Sunday night matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Since 2015, the Vikings are unbeaten in the games directly after the team has competed on a Thursday during the previous week. So Minnesota has shown that they definitely take advantage of their extra time off.

This has the chance to be one of the most exciting games of the 2019 season with the Chiefs’ explosive offense taking on the Vikings’ ferocious defense. Offense is supposedly the way to get to the top of the NFL these days, but it will be Minnesota’s defense that earns them a victory in this matchup.

Prediction: Vikings win (8-1)

Week 10

Dallas Cowboys (Away)

  • Date: Sunday, November 10
  • Time: 8:20 p.m. EST
  • TV: NBC

For the second straight week, the Vikings will have the advantage of having more time to prepare for their contest than their opponent as the Cowboys will be coming off of a Monday night road matchup against the New York Giants.

Dallas’ strategy for success is a lot like how Mike Zimmer wants Minnesota to function in 2019. The Cowboys have an offense built around a talented rushing attack and their defense was one of the best in the NFL last season.

Road victories on Sunday nights have not been easy to come by for the Vikings. Since 2005, Minnesota has just one win in Sunday night matchups that take place outside of their home stadium.

With their next two games on the road, Dallas will likely pull out all the stops to make sure they come away with a win over the Vikings. Expect it to be a close contest with the Cowboys’ home field advantage being one of the deciding factors.

Prediction: Vikings lose (8-2)
