Round 7 Pick 1: Terry Godwin, WR – Georgia
At this point, why not roll the dice on a speedy slot receiver who could be a great compliment to Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs, and the rest of the young receiving corp to add more challenge to the roster spot.
It’s not that fans shouldn’t believe in guys like Chad Beebe, Brandon Zylstra, or Jeff Badet, but adding some more competition to work out of the slot in the future could be something the Minnesota Vikings may be interested in.
A punt returner at Georgia who struggled with knee injuries, Godwin has shown the ability to bounce back through hard work and effort, having some of his best performances in the school’s biggest games.
Godwin’s stats won’t jump off the page at people. In 51 total games, he caught 134 passes for 1,800 yards and 11 touchdowns, adding one rushing touchdown and 51 yards on the ground while returning one kickoff for a score.
