In 2018, the Minnesota Vikings went off the grid and selected corner Mike Hughes in the first round. Who are some lesser-known prospects that could wind up in purple this year?

The Minnesota Vikings are heading down the stretch in preparation for the NFL Draft. The thousands of mock drafts that have been published this year have shown that there are many ways in which the Vikings can go to push themselves from the outside of the playoff fringe in 2018 to find their way back to becoming an NFC contender in 2019.

Many of the names being rumored to still be available when Minnesota is on the clock in the first round, such as Jonah Williams, Cody Ford, and Garrett Bradbury, have been played on repeat since prospects left the NFL Scouting Combine back in March. However, this time last year, nobody was talking about the Vikings’ eventual first-round pick being Mike Hughes.

That element of surprise is something that makes the NFL Draft one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year. There are many names that aren’t being talked about that could wind up in purple when the draft concludes this time next week.

What would Minnesota’s 2019 draft haul look like if they decided to go with a bunch of under-the-radar selections?
