3. The Vikings will only draft two offensive linemen during the entire draft
The drum has been beaten raw this draft season. The Minnesota Vikings need offensive linemen and must select as many as possible. Well, I’m going to predict all they end up drafting is two.
The Vikings will use their first pick, wherever that may be, to land their new starting left guard. When taking a look at their depth chart as it stands now, it the only real hole. The Vikings have Riley Reiff at left tackle, Pat Elflien at center, free agent signee Josh Kline at right guard, and promising young Brian O’Neil at right tackle. They just need a left guard. They added some depth at guard in free agency with Dakota Dozier and also brought back Brett Jones. That is arguably a better threesome at the position than they had a season ago.
They do remain thin at tackle with Rashod Hill the only proven backup. So the team will take an offensive tackle at some point in this draft. It likely won’t be until day 3 where they get a guy like Isaiah Prince or Tyler Roemer. That gives them two guys who can back up the starters. The quality can be questioned, but the truth is, it’s much better depth than a season ago and shows they only need and will take two offensive linemen in this draft.
