Jawaan Taylor – OT (Florida)

This is probably the biggest head scratcher of all the players remaining. Taylor was looked at by many to be a sure-fire first-round pick and possibly even a top 10 selection. Shockingly, he is somehow still on the board after the first round has commenced.

There were a handful of teams with needs at offensive tackle who passed on this guy. Two players who were universally ranked lower than him, Tytus Howard and Kaleb McGary, were both taken before Taylor.

So that screams that either he has an injury that was discovered in the medical checks at the Combine that was not revealed to the general public or there are some undisclosed character issues with this big man.

That being said, there is still a ton of upside with Taylor and he’d be a huge get for the Vikings at pick No. 50 in the second round.

This guy has everything you look for in a starting NFL left tackle. He’s 6-foot-5, 312 pounds with long arms and good overall strength and movement skills.

He wouldn’t need to be pressed into action as a rookie and he can be a backup as he gets coached up and acclimated to the NFL. In year two, Taylor could be ready to protect Kirk Cousins blindside and hold that position down for the next decade.
