Greedy Williams – CB (LSU)

Not that the Vikings need another cornerback, but Mike Zimmer loves them and he especially loves one with Williams’ skill set.

Measuring in at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, he has long, lanky limbs and is faster than the dickens. The fact that Williams kind of resembles Xavier Rhodes when he’s out on the field will also tug at Zim’s heart-strings.

Williams has shown ball-hawking skills during his time in the Bayou. He’s also quite capable in run support, though he could stand to get a little stronger.

There have been some rumblings about Williams character. The fact that he refused to have any meetings with teams before the draft is very odd and it likely rubbed a lot of teams the wrong way.

Again, that isn’t a concern with the Vikings, who have a roster that is chocked full of high character guys, as they can show this talented young cover man how to be a professional on and off the field.

Minnesota absolutely should not take a cornerback in round two on Friday. But Williams does have the talent and upside to make the pick very worthwhile.
