Laquon Treadwell – WR

During this year’s NFL Draft, the Vikings added two receivers to their roster in Oregon’s Dillon Mitchell and Colorado State’s Olabisi Johnson. But Minnesota selected these two guys in the seventh round, so Treadwell’s job shouldn’t be in danger, right?

Not exactly.

The Vikings’ selections of Mitchell and Johnson certainly shows that the team wants there to be as much competition for their No. 3 receiver spot as possible this year. Treadwell had the job last season and he did nothing to leave anyone with a good impression.

Of the two pass catchers Minnesota drafted this year, Mitchell probably has the best chance to take over as the team’s No. 3 receiver in 2019. He was very productive at Oregon last season (75 catches, 1,184 yards, 10 touchdowns), he has the speed to stretch the field, and he also has experience as a punt returner.

Having two more players to compete with this summer definitely doesn’t appear to be a good sign for Treadwell’s future with the Vikings.
