7 prospects the Vikings could select in the 2020 NFL Draft
By Adam Patrick
Najee Harris – RB (Alabama)
Measurements:
- Height: 6-foot-2 Weight: 227 pounds
2018 Stats:
- 117 carries, 783 yards (6.7 average), 4 touchdowns
- 4 catches, 7 yards
Last season, Harris was still able to be productive despite sharing a backfield with Josh Jacobs and Damien Harris. But for 2019, junior running back will likely take the lead role in Alabama’s rushing attack.
With his size and the aggressiveness that he runs with, Harris has earned comparisons to current NFL running back Adrian Peterson. If he is truly a similar back to Peterson, then Harris could be one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Why Harris could end up on the Vikings:
During the last three years, Minnesota has used an early-round draft pick on two different running backs. So it’s obviously an important position for the Vikings.
Minnesota is hoping that Dalvin Cook will be their top back for the next few seasons. But Cook’s first two years in the NFL have been riddled with injuries and the Vikings may choose to look elsewhere for a No. 1 running back if this ends up being the case again in 2019.
