With extension talks reportedly coming to a halt, the possibility of the Minnesota Vikings trading their veteran tight end still seems to be on the table.
After no deal was made during the 2019 NFL Draft, it appeared that Kyle Rudolph was likely going to remain with the Minnesota Vikings for the upcoming season.
But a recent report has inserted Rudolph’s name right back into the rumor mill. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport on Friday, the Vikings and their tight end have not been able to agree to an extension and the end result could see him traded elsewhere before the start of the 2019 season.
Sending Rudolph packing before Week 1 seems like a bit of a last resort for Minnesota to clear up some much-needed cap space. But anything is also possible in today’s NFL landscape.
With his experience (eight seasons), his contract (one year remaining), and his durability (hasn’t missed a game since 2014), Rudolph is an attractive asset that some teams may be interested in acquiring over the next few months.
Even after free agency and the draft, there are still plenty of teams around the league that could use more tight end help. Who are four teams that could potentially try and work out a trade with the Vikings to acquire Rudolph this year?
