Heading into the 2019 NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings are being regarded as one of the most underrated teams in the entire league.

Expectations were very high for the Minnesota Vikings heading into last season, and rightfully so. A number of people who cover the NFL for a living believed the Vikings had the potential to make it to the Super Bowl in 2018.

But as Minnesota prepares for the upcoming season, their expectations are definitely not as high. The goal for the Vikings is still to earn a spot in the Super Bowl, however, not as many people are willing to select them to finish as the top team in the NFC in their 2019 predictions.

Minnesota’s lowered expectations for next season also has some believing that they are one of the more underrated teams of 2019. Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski recently listed his most underrated NFL teams heading into next season and the Vikings are among those included.

Also included on the list with Minnesota are the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Redskins.

Sobleski believes that the Vikings in 2019 will end up getting back to playing like they did in 2017 (when they won 13 games and made the NFC Championship) mostly due to a return to a more balanced offense with Kevin Stefanski now being the team’s offensive coordinator.

Minnesota has a ton of talent on both sides of the ball and their roster is currently set up to compete for a championship over the next few years. Last season, it just seemed like the Vikings were presented with a number of unexpected obstacles that became too difficult to overcome

With their expectations a little lower, perhaps 2019 will actually be the year in which Minnesota is able to make it back to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1976 season.
