After a solid year with the Vikings, Aldrick Robinson signs with Carolina
By Adam Carlson
Aldrick Robinson stretched the field for the Minnesota Vikings during the 2018 NFL season but will be catching footballs with the Carolina Panthers in 2019.
Bringing a player in during the season isn’t usually a good sign. Those players who still aren’t on teams are usually unsigned for a reason, but the Minnesota Vikings did well by inking Aldrick Robinson to a one-year deal after Week 2 of the season.
The wide receiver had played on four teams before landing in Minnesota. However, even after a season which saw him catch 17 passes for 231 yards and five touchdowns, the Vikings decided not to bring him back to the team.
Robinson remained a free agent for quite a while after his solid year in purple and gold but a player of his talent and ability wasn’t going to stay unsigned for too long and finally found a suitor for his services.
Here is Aldrick Robinson signing his contract with the Carolina Panthers as shared on their team Twitter account:
Robinson will be a great fit for the Panthers. His ability to stretch the field and make big plays will fit in well with the strong running game in Carolina where Christian McCaffrey will have teams doing everything they can to stop him.
In addition, Robinson will join former Vikings pass catcher Jarius Wright there to make the Panthers offense even more recognizable to fans who follow Minnesota’s team. Considering the team also has veterans Torrey Smith, D.J. Moore, and Chris Hogan as well as rookie Terry Godwin, there is a question of how often Robinson will see the field in Carolina.
Congratulations to Aldrick Robinson for landing with another team where he will have a great chance to succeed. Also, The Viking Age would like to thank him for the time he spent with the Minnesota Vikings and the exciting moments he provided fans.
