Which rookies can make a good first impression?

With this being the first chance to make a good impression in front of the entire squad, the Vikings’ 2019 rookie class will likely have a note or two within the first couple days of OTAs that could be tucked away for later.

One of the biggest areas to watch could be Minnesota’s battle for the receiver spots behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, where the incumbent Laquon Treadwell has struggled and neither Brandon Zylstra or Chad Beebe made much of an impact a year ago.

It could be easy for someone like Johnson and fellow seventh-rounder Dillon Mitchell to shine in shorts and t-shirts this week. But it could be the first of a steady drumbeat as the season approaches.

The same could be said of fellow rookies such as Armon Watts, Dru Samia, Marcus Epps, or even Oli Udoh as they take the field for the first time.

Again, no jobs will be handed out this week. But it’s a great chance for Minnesota to get off to a strong start out of the gate.
