Mark Wilf and his brother, Zygi, are expecting the Minnesota Vikings to perform much better in 2019 than they did last season.

Expectations were high for the Minnesota Vikings last year and they failed to even come close to them. There is no arguing about that.

But just because the Vikings had a disappointing season in 2018, doesn’t mean that their ownership will be satisfied with another mediocre campaign in 2019. After reaching the NFC Championship less than two years ago, Minnesota’s owners still believe the team is capable of doing something similar during the upcoming season.

Vikings owner Mark Wilf recently spoke with the Star Tribune’s Sid Hartman about what the team’s ownership is expecting for 2019.

"“We expect a lot better season, and we’re working hard every day. I know our coaches, and staff and players are working hard and getting ready for the season.”"

Wilf and the rest of Minnesota’s ownership also believe quarterback Kirk Cousins is going to perform even better in his second season with the team.

"“I think a year under his belt here in Minnesota and his familiarity with everything is going to bode well. He’s doing great. We expect a lot out of him as well as our whole team.”"

Since purchasing the Vikings in 2005 for around $600 million, the Wilfs have done a lot to try and help get the team in position for a championship.

They were able to get a brand new, state-of-the-art stadium built in downtown Minneapolis, the Vikings now have one of the best practice facilities in the NFL in the TCO Performance Center, and the Wilfs have never been afraid to dish out a ton of money to add more talent to the team’s roster.

Since its doors opened in 2016, U.S. Bank Stadium has already hosted a Super Bowl and the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four and Minnesota’s owners are hoping to one day have the NFL Draft take place in the Twin Cities.

During their entire time of owning the Vikings, the WIlfs have increased the value of the franchise from $600 million to over $2 billion. With their current ownership leading the way, it seems like Minnesota will always have a good chance of remaining competitive each and every season.

The Wilfs are doing everything they can to put the franchise in position to capture its first-ever Super Bowl victory. Now, it’s just up to the players and coaches to go out and correctly utilize all of the tools their ownership has provided them with.
