Will Xavier Rhodes return to his dominant form this season?

The awesome number of top-tier wide receivers that Xavier Rhodes has shut down over the years has positioned him to be considered as a shutdown cornerback. However, his 2018 season didn’t quite meet the same standards are previous campaigns.

Even Rhodes himself shared a statement in the Star Tribune about his struggles last year and identified some of the issues that caused his problems, but can he once again become that dominant defender fans have seen in the past?

If he can stay healthy and not be as aggressive, Rhodes looks to have a bounce-back season. His PFF grade of 58.2 is massively disappointing and the lowest of his career, so there is plenty of room for improvement. However, it has yet to be seen if he can be that player he was.

Secondary question: Can Mike Hughes have a strong comeback?

First-round pick Mike Hughes looked great during the six games he played in as a rookie and even registered a pick-six in his debut with the Minnesota Vikings. Then, he tore his ACL and missed the rest of the season. He returns for 2019, but can he be as effective for his return.
