Can Dalvin Cook stay healthy?

In his first two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Dalvin Cook has only played in 15 total games and started 14. Injuries have sidelined him for more than half of his games as a pro, and that is something the coaching staff should be concerned about.

However, with plenty of time to recover and get his confidence back, this should be the year Cook finally trusts his body again. Coming off the long recovery from an ACL tear can be challenging mentally, but the running back should be able to overcome that.

After losing a veteran backup in Latavius Murray, the Vikings will want to have Cook as a durable and exciting player who can take the ball to the house in both the running and receiving phases of the game.

Secondary question: What kind of split will Cook and Mattison have?

As previously stated, Murray is out and draft pick Alexander Mattison will take his place as the team’s primary backup and change of pace back. Mattison has proven to be a bulldozer who can handle a large workload, but whether or not Minnesota wants to use him to preserve Cook has yet to be seen.
