The Minnesota Vikings linebacker recently commented on his team’s chances for the 2019 season and why the offense should play a part in their success.

During Anthony Barr’s five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, the team has used a total of four different offensive coordinators. The Vikings have switched up their offensive scheme quite a bit since Barr arrived and the linebacker has seen it all go down out on the practice field.

Unsurprisingly, Minnesota is currently transitioning to yet another new offense under Kevin Stefanski and offensive advisor Gary Kubiak. Based on what he’s witnessed so far this offseason, Barr is someone who has been impressed with what the Vikings have been running on the offensive side of the ball.

The Minnesota linebacker recently appeared on the NFL Network show Good Morning Football and he gave some thoughts on the team’s latest offensive scheme.

"“It’s looking very promising. I’ll tell you what I’ve seen these last few days, offensively, I think they’re vastly improved in the type of scheme that they’re running. I think with the new pieces they have on the O-line and the new guys they have upstairs and the masterminds they have on the offensive side are going to pay dividends.”"

Now we are currently entering one of the slowest periods of the NFL offseason, which is also the time for every team to express why they believe it’s their year to end up on top. So make sure to factor this in while forming an opinion on Barr’s recent comments.

At the same time though, the Vikings linebacker has never really been a guy to mislead anyone with his responses to questions from the media. Barr has always been pretty open and honest and if he has something to say about a certain topic, he’s going to let his true thoughts be known.

Based on that, his comments regarding Minnesota’s new offensive scheme are pretty encouraging. Barr has to face the Vikings’ offense in every practice and if he is raving about how improved the unit is, then one should assume that there is a good amount of truth to what he is saying.

Minnesota has been able to achieve a good amount of success during Mike Zimmer’s tenure as the team’s head coach and they’ve been able to do it with some pretty average offenses.

If the Vikings’ new offensive coaches can somehow transform the unit into one that is at least better than two-thirds of the league in 2019, then it could end up being something that finally leads the franchise to a championship.
