When putting together a list of the top 25 players under 25 years old, CBS Sports was right to include a dangerous Minnesota Vikings pass rusher.

It’s hard to believe the youth on the roster of the Minnesota Vikings. Many of the team’s star players are either on their rookie contracts or are playing on their first contract extension with the squad.

One of those players who recently signed a contract extension with the team is defensive end Danielle Hunter. The pass rusher has accumulated 40 sacks in his 62 games played, notching a career-high 14.5 last season.

At only 24 years old, Hunter has proven himself to be a valuable player to Minnesota’s defense and continues to improve with each passing year. CBS Sports noted his play, and including him on their list of the top 25 players under 25 years old.

Hunter clocked in at number six on the countdown. Here is what Sean Wagner-McGough had to say about him in the article:

"“According to PFF, he’s also generated 190 pressures since 2016, which ranks 11th (tied with Frank Clark) among edge defenders. Only six players have had more sacks since he entered the league. None of those players are under the age of 25.”"

The Minnesota Vikings are lucky to have a pass rusher the caliber of Danielle Hunter on their roster and are exceptionally fortunate to have snagged the exciting defensive end in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

If Everson Griffen can return to playing at a high level in 2019 and Hunter can continue his exceptional play, opposing quarterbacks will be facing pressure at an alarming rate, earning sacks or forcing bad throws and decisions for the rest of the team to capitalize on.

With a lot of fuel left in the tank and time to refine his skills, Danielle Hunter has earned every bit of respect and honors he has accumulated over the years. A recognition like this from CBS Sports is just a feather in the cap for a dominant defensive player like him.
