Minnesota Vikings: 10 best fifth round draft picks of all time
By Adam Carlson
10. Letroy Guion, DT – 2008
When the Minnesota Vikings were looking to groom a big defensive tackle to use as a rotational player or develop into a starter for the future, they made the right decision on choosing Letroy Guion.
After a slow start where he had to earn his time on the field, Guion finally got a rotational role in 2010 and once again impressed enough to get more looks. In 2011, he finally got his first start and then held down the role for two seasons after that.
In total, Guion spent 6 seasons with the Vikings where he accumulated a total of 89 tackles (53 solo), 13 tackles for a loss, nine quarterback hits, three pass defenses, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Following his time wearing purple and gold, Guion was signed by the Green Bay Packers where he played for three more seasons, retiring after the 2016 NFL season. But the 6’4 and 322 pound bit man sure made an impact while in Minnesota.
