Stefon Diggs – WR

“Are you trying to get Diggs killed!?”

The answer to this is no, but he’s another interesting option if the Vikings want to get the ball in his hands even more than the career-high 102 receptions he logged last year.

Diggs had modest results when returning six punts back in 2016, averaging just 7.5 yards per return. But he saw more success in the role dating back to his college days at Maryland.

Diggs averaged 10 yards per punt return for the Terrapins during his freshman season in 2012. He was also Maryland’s primary kick returner and he ended up with two kick return touchdowns during that season.

The thought of putting Diggs back at punt returner might be scary, especially considering his injury history. But it also could follow in the footsteps of fellow top receivers such as Antonio Brown and Tyreek Hill, who have returned kicks for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs respectively.

In the end, it just depends what the Vikings want from their punt returner in 2019. If they want someone that can take what is given to them, it may be a name not on this list who could step up and fill the void left by Sherels.

Must Read. Way too early Vikings 2019 roster projection. light

If they want an explosive playmaker, someone like Diggs could fit that bill.
