5 Minnesota Vikings who should have been extended before Kyle Rudolph
By Adam Carlson
With the report that Kyle Rudolph got a contract extension from the Minnesota Vikings, it is time to think about five other players who need a deal.
Late last night, tight end Kyle Rudolph announced on his personal Twitter account that he and the Minnesota Vikings have come to terms on a contract extension to keep him with the team past the 2019 season.
ESPN’s Courtney Cronin shared on Twitter that the deal would be signed this morning and made official, keeping the nine-season NFL veteran in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Meanwhile, NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero states that it is a four-year deal worth $36M, averaging out to $9M per season.
It is great that the team was able to lock down their tight end, but there are also several players on the team’s roster who have also earned contract extensions and might actually be more deserving of a long-term deal than Rudolph.
Let’s take a look at five players the Minnesota Vikings should have locked down with a contract extension before coming to terms with Kyle Rudolph, starting with a player who earned a deal, but likely won’t get one.
