Pat Elflein didn’t have the 2018 season that was expected of him. Will he be better or worse for the Minnesota Vikings in 2019?

Pat Elflein was a third-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2017 Draft. He had a great beginning to his career and he ended up starting 14 games for the Vikings at center.

During his rookie season, he unfortunately suffered a shoulder injury and later fractured his ankle in the NFC Championship which resulted in him needing to have offseason surgery.

The recovery time for Elflien was lengthy and he didn’t return to the team until Week 3 of the 2018 season.

Due to his absence, he wasn’t able to play up to the high standards he set for himself during that rookie season and he struggled right along with most of Minnesota’s offensive line in 2018.

Elflein is moving to a new position for the 2019 season and he seems excited to get back to playing at guard like he did during his days as a Buckeye at Ohio State. The question remains can Elflein return to the level of play that ended up with him being one of the Vikings’ top rookies 2017?

So let’s take a closer look and try and figure out if the young offensive lineman will perform better or worse in 2019 than he did last season.
