The Minnesota Vikings foundation is always looking for new ways to help the community and today they launched a food truck to deliver healthy meals to kids.

It’s not a rare thing these days to see the Minnesota Vikings attached to great projects in the state. Between the team’s organization, foundations from the players/staff, and other community involvement, quite a bit gets done thanks to the purple and gold.

The most recent of these moves involve the Minnesota Vikings Foundation launching a new food truck called the Vikings Table. According to the team’s official website, it will “a custom-built food truck that will be used to distribute healthy meals to youth in the Twin Cities who are dealing with food insecurity.”

Vikings Table will be parked in front of U.S. Bank Stadium at home games, at training camp, and other team events to raise money for free, healthy meals kids, with 100 percent of the profits going toward that goal.

Team Owner/President Mark Wilf is exceptionally proud of this initiative and is excited about advancement in the well-being of youth through engaging health and education.

"“Approximately 250,000 children in the Minnesota area are missing meals during the summer months. This initiative provides an opportunity for our Foundation to work alongside other non-profit organizations in the fight against youth food insecurity and leverage the Vikings brand in an effort to remove existing barriers facing traditional non-profit work.”"

Vikings Table is a 38′ Winnebago with an 80-inch monitor at the back to showcase nutritional and informational videos about healthy eating. Operations will be handled by individuals from the O’Cheeze and Dough Dough food trucks and will staff the trucks with their own personnel to man the food prep stations when serving up food.
