Defense is dominating as usual

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has never been shy about how he wants his team to function. He wants Minnesota to have an efficient offense and a defense that has the ability to dominate their opponents.

During the majority of Zimmer’s tenure as the Vikings’ head coach, the team’s defense has been among the best in the entire NFL. It seems like that will likely be the case, once again, in 2019.

Minnesota is currently installing a new offensive scheme and they have found it a little difficult to do at times given how talented the team’s defense is. Vikings offensive advisor Gary Kubiak has commented on how the defense’s core group of players being together for a number of years definitely gives them the advantage over the offense during practice.

That core of Minnesota’s defense is going to be vital to the team’s success during the upcoming season as well. The Vikings may have a fancy new offensive system now, but how the team performs in 2019 still remains mostly in the hands of Zimmer and his defense.
