Vikings not satisfied with their punting situation

During the Vikings’ recent OTAs, it was revealed that the team had added Nate Kaeding to the staff as a part-time kicking coach. Minnesota is clearly doing what they can to improve their kicking problems and that’s not the only area of special teams they are looking to improve either.

Matt Wile is currently the only punter on the Vikings’ roster and many have figured that he was just going to assume the same role for the team again in 2019. However, that may not actually be the case.

This week, Minnesota brought in a group of four punters to work out for the team that consisted of Austin Rehkow, Drew Kaser, Justin Vogel, and Shane Tripucka. Kaser and Vogel are the only ones that have actually appeared in an NFL regular season game.

None of these four punters have been added to the Vikings’ roster yet, but it’s clear that that the team is looking to bring in more competition for Wile this summer.
