7 takeaways from the Minnesota Vikings’ 2019 minicamp

Cook is ready to breakout
After a very impressive college career at Florida State, Dalvin Cook’s tenure in the NFL hasn’t exactly gone according to plan.
At first, it seemed like Cook was going to be the next great running back for the Vikings when he ran for 288 yards and a touchdown in his first three games. However, his rookie season unfortunately came to an end thanks to a torn ACL during his fourth appearance in a Minnesota uniform.
Then Cook appeared ready to bounce back from his injury in 2018 as he was able to recover in time for the start of the Vikings’ season. But then he ended up injuring his hamstring during Minnesota’s second matchup of the year and it resulted in him missing a total of five games.
This year, Cook is injury free and ready to get back to the form he displayed during his first few games as a member of the Vikings.
Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer has been very impressed with what he’s seen from the young running back during the team’s practices over the last few weeks. If Cook can find a way to stay healthy for the majority of the Vikings’ 2019 matchups, he could be in line to have the breakout season everyone knows he is capable of.
