Everson Griffen had a down season in 2018 for the Minnesota Vikings. Will that downward trend continue or will he be better in 2019?

Everson Griffen didn’t have his best season in 2018 for the Minnesota Vikings. He posted his lowest sack total since 2013 and he was wildly inconsistent.

However, Griffen did miss some time last year as he dealt with his mental health. That time away from the team is likely a big reason for why his numbers declined.

Not only did he miss games, but he missed valuable practice time and it clearly showed, as he struggled to get off blocks and he didn’t spend nearly as much time in the opposing backfield each week.

Griffen will look to bounce back in 2019. But the question is will he be better or was what we saw last year the beginning of the end for his career?

So let’s explore some reasons for why Griffen may or may not perform better next season than he did in 2018.
