A massive hotel is being constructed in Eagan, Minnesota near the home of the Vikings practice fields and office which should be amazing for training camp.

When the Minnesota Vikings decided to move their front office out of Winter Park and their training camp out of Mankato, the franchise made the call to build a campus in Eagan, Minnesota they would call Viking Lakes.

The massive facility has indoor and outdoor practice facilities as well a ton of state of the art features such as medical facilities, a beautiful gym, meeting rooms, and much more that fits everything the team could ever want. Plus, it has hosted movie nights and concerts to draw even more appeal to the area.

However, the next step in the plan was to create a hotel near the campus to provide plenty of places for visitors or fans to stay. Now, that plan has become closer to being a reality.

According to the Pioneer Press, an ownership group has been founded to finance the building of the proposed 14-floor hotel complex which will work with MV Eagan Ventures (a real estate company owned by the Wilf family) to get the job done.

Among those announced to have joined the group are Ecolab, Viking Lakes Hotel Physician Partners, and Mark, Mitch and Marty Davis of Ma Mi Ma Real Estate Holdings.

In Mark Wilf’s statement on Thursday, he praised each part of the group for the knowledge they bring to the project:

"“Each of these partners brings expertise in product development, innovative technology, and customer service and is a natural connection in the development of the Viking Lakes Hotel.”"

Considering how much went into building the practice facility and offices at Vikings Lakes, fans should expect the hotel in Eagan to be a cutting edge place to stay with no expense spared. In fact, Wilf did say that it would be a “four-star hotel” and has a great location close to many Minnesota attractions.

Some of the planned amenities were announced…and it sounds amazing!

"“The hotel will include 320 guest rooms and suites, hospitality lounges, a restaurant, rooftop bar, spa and fitness center. Of the total 356,000 square feet, 25,000 square feet will be set aside for an event center, two ballrooms and multiple meeting rooms.”"

The current plan is for the hotel at Viking Lakes to be completed in 2020, which is ambitious, but not unlikely. This should be the primary destination for hardcore Minnesota Vikings fans for training camp and nearly every team-related trip to the area, and will be one heck of a place to rest and relax between events.
