To prove he was worth extending

Kyle Rudolph is a prideful player. He knows what was being said about him by fans and some in the media when his future with the team was uncertain. He will come back motivated and ready to prove all his doubters wrong and show everyone he was worth the extension the Vikings gave to him.

When it was unclear what the Vikings were going to do with Kyle Rudolph there were plenty of fans on Twitter saying how the team should trade him. Some seemed fine getting as little as a fifth-round pick for one of the best tight ends in the league.

The reasoning was his age and his hit against the salary cap. Some even took it a step further and suggested Rudolph get flat out released, giving the Vikings some salary cap relief.

Kyle Rudolph also has a Twitter account and he surely read many of these tweets. He will have extra motivation to prove he still has a lot to give to the Vikings and that his best football is still ahead of him. Hopefully, for Minnesota’s offense and their entire 2019 season, that is the case.
