Dalvin Cook

Dalvin Cook has shown flashes of his dynamic skill set throughout his first two years in the NFL. Unfortunately, injuries have limited him and have prevented him from being the firecracker of an offensive weapon that he can be.

What makes Cook such an explosive player is that he can make big plays running the ball and also as a receiver out of the backfield. He has elite top-end speed and when he hits that top gear, it almost looks like he’s running in fast forward.

Cook has had some big plays for the Vikings in his career. As a rookie, he had a big performance in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints where he broke off some long runs. Just last year, he had a breakout game against the Miami Dolphins where he ran for 136 yards and gained 27 more as a pass catcher.

In his career, Cook has eight rushes of at least 20 yards with a long of 70 yards. As a pass catcher, he’s hauled in six passes that have resulted in gains of 20 or more yards. He’s done all of this in just 15 career games.

The only thing that will keep Cook from being one of the most explosive weapons on the Vikings in 2019 is his health.

If he gets dinged again it will be a devastating blow to his confidence and to Minnesota’s offense. If Cook can manage to put together a complete 16-game season, he will no doubt not just be one of the biggest firecrackers on the Vikings, but in the entire NFL as well.
