The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and talked about his expectations for the team in 2019.

Last season was certainly bittersweet for Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen. He was voted to his second-straight Pro Bowl after he set new career-highs for catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns but none of it really mattered to him since the Vikings didn’t get to participate in the playoffs.

Thielen knows how disappointing last year’s outcome was for Minnesota. So that’s why he and the rest of his Vikings teammates will be doing whatever they can to get back to the postseason in 2019.

Something that is expected to improve Minnesota’s playoff chances next season is the new offensive scheme that is currently being installed. During a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Thielen seemed to be very excited for what the Vikings’ offense can do in 2019.

"“I think our offense is going to be explosive. I think with our new system, with our play-caller, and the guys we have, I think we can do a lot of things. I think we’re going to be able to spread the ball around. We’re going to be able to run the football and be able to do play-action off of that.It should be really exciting to watch and it’s just going to be really fun to be part of. Even (during) OTAs and minicamp, it was fun to be part of this offense because there’s so many guys that can make plays.”"

The Minnesota receiver is definitely very optimistic about the potential of the team’s offense for the upcoming season. But anything at this point really seems better as long as John DeFilippo is no longer running things.

In 2018, the Vikings’ offense was supposed to just continue what they did successfully from the year before. However, things didn’t exactly turn out that way with DeFilippo in control and it resulted in Minnesota finishing with only the 19th-best scoring offense last season.

The inability of the Vikings’ offense to be consistent was really one of the biggest factors in the team not getting into the playoffs last year. Thielen and Minnesota hope that their new offensive system will allow the team to return to more of what they were doing well in 2017 and ultimately result in a trip back to the postseason.

According to what the Vikings receiver recently said, it sounds like the team’s new offense has the potential to be even better than the unit from two years ago.
