The second best cornerback tandem for the Vikings is Carl Lee and Audray McMillian. This is Lee’s third appearance in the ranking—the most of any player included. For Lee, the two seasons with McMillian were his ninth and 10th in his 11-year career and last two with the Vikings. Lee finished his career with the New Orleans Saints in 1994 starting eight of 12 games he played that season.

McMillian a third-round draft pick of the New England Patriots in 1985 but never played for them. His career started with Houston Oilers where he only started two games in three seasons. He joined the Minnesota Vikings in 1989 as a backup to Lee and Najee Mustafaa for three seasons.

After six seasons as a backup, McMillian finally started all 16 games in 1992. He made the most of this opportunity and led the NFL with eight interceptions. His approximate value rating of 18 for the 1992 season is the single-highest for any player in the ranking.

Over the two seasons, McMillian and Lee played they started every game and averaged 8.5 interceptions per season—the third highest in the ranking. What makes this duo so impressive that they were both in their 30’s the two seasons they played together.
