The Minnesota Vikings boast the best wide receiver duo in the league, but are searching for someone behind them to step up during training camp.
When it comes to the front lines, the Minnesota Vikings are blessed at receiver. Atop of the depth chart, the Vikings boast two Pro Bowl wideouts that were not highly regarded coming out of college and one of them you might have heard only had a $500 scholarship to Minnesota State-Mankato before finding their way on the roster.
With Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen becoming elite targets for Kirk Cousins, the Vikings are pretty set up when they know they want to throw the ball. The only problem is that opposing defenses know this as well and when the Vikings’ offense sputtered toward the end of the season, nobody could step up and help take the pressure off the duo.
While a lot of that blame got thrown upon Cousins, the truth is that the Minnesota Vikings need someone to step up if they are going to be successful in 2019. Former first-round pick Laquon Treadwell will be on his last chance to be a part of this offense while other young players such as Chad Beebe and Brandon Zylstra join newcomers Jordan Taylor, Dillon Mitchell and Olabisi Johnson in what should be one of the biggest battles in training camp.
