3. Chuck Foreman (1975)

Stats:

  • 1,070 rushing yards, 13 touchdowns
  • 73 catches, 691 yards, 9 touchdowns

Before a dual-threat running back became as common as it in today’s NFL, Chuck Foreman was one of the few backs in the league who was just as dangerous as a rusher as he was a pass catcher.

In his third year with the Vikings, Foreman not only rushed for more than 1,000 yards, but he also led the NFL in catches. At the time, his 73 receptions were the most ever in one season by a Minnesota running back.

Foreman’s outstanding performance in 1975 also resulted in the one and only First-Team All-Pro selection of his professional football career.

Best Game: Week 14 vs. Buffalo

Foreman saved his best performance for last in 1975. During the Vikings’ regular season finale against the Bills, the talented running back ended up with a monster day.

Foreman finished the matchup with 85 rushing yards, 10 catches, 87 receiving yards, and a total of four touchdowns (two rushing, two receiving).
