Brent Grimes – CB

Cornerback is expected to be one of the Vikings’ deepest position groups this year. But that may not be the case during the early portion of the season with Mike Hughes coming off a torn ACL and Holton Hill being suspended for the team’s first four games.

Brent Grimes is a veteran corner who could potentially help out Minnesota’s defensive backfield in 2019. Especially if Hughes isn’t 100 percent at the start of the regular season.

A four-time Pro Bowler, Grimes spent the last three years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the best seasons of his career came when he was a member of the Miami Dolphins.

With the Dolphins in 2013, Grimes was coached by a staff that included current Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards. Knowing how good he was in Miami, could Edwards sway Mike Zimmer to add the veteran corner to Minnesota’s roster before the start of the season?
