Domata Peko – DT

Even after 13 years in the NFL, Domata Peko would still like to continue playing football in 2019. With Tom Johnson no longer on the roster, the Vikings could use someone with the experience that Peko has for the depth of their interior defensive line.

Peko is primarily a nose tackle though, so Minnesota wouldn’t be able to offer him a starting job since Linval Joseph is currently the guy with this role on their defense. But if the current free agent is willing to take a backup spot on a team that could contend for a championship this season, the Vikings could be a good home for him.

During the last two years, Peko was a starting defensive tackle for the Denver Broncos. In his first season with the Broncos, the defense finished as the best in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per carry.

Peko also has a connection to Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer. The veteran free agent spent the first 11 years of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals and Zimmer was his defensive coordinator for six of those years.
