Right Guard: Josh Kline

One of the biggest questions the Minnesota Vikings will have to find out during training camp is who exactly is Josh Kline. After being one of the many gems the New England Patriots have unearthed thanks to Dante Scarnecchia, Kline headed south to the Tennessee Titans, where he had an inconsistent stay as the team’s right guard.

Last season, Kline got off to a solid start with the Titans but started to fade down the stretch. Some of that blame went to a mid-season injury, but the 29-year old would allow 38 pressures on the season according to Pro Football Focus, which would be a key reason the Titans’ offensive line took a step back this year and helped book his ticket out of Nashville last March.

With the Vikings desperate for offensive line help, they signed Kline to a three-year contract, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be handed the starting job. Minnesota traded up to grab Oklahoma guard Dru Samia in the fourth round of last April’s NFL Draft, and if Kline falters during camp, it could open the door for the rookie to take the job before the veteran even gets his feet wet in Eagan.
