Favorable schedule layout

Some have the Vikings’ schedule in 2019 as one of the hardest in the NFL. However, that’s a little difficult to believe when six of their first eight games are against teams who missed out on the playoffs last season.

In addition to this, Minnesota gets to play at home in four of their final six 2019 matchups. No matter who their opponents are, the Vikings’ getting to play inside U.S. Bank Stadium will always be an advantage for them.

Yes, Minnesota does have some difficult road games this year against teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Chargers. But when the schedule is examined a little closer, there are certain factors that could play into the Vikings’ favor for each of these matchups.

Minnesota gets extra time to prepare for both games against the Chiefs and Seahawks, the Cowboys will have a short week to get ready for their matchup against the Vikings, and Minnesota could essentially have a home game when they travel to play the Chargers considering how their fan base is almost non-existent.

Minnesota also gets to avoid playing the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears in the freezing cold since both of their road matchups against these two teams will take place in September.

It certainly doesn’t seem like the Vikings’ 2019 schedule is as tough as some are making it appear to be.
