Everyone wants to erase the memory of last season

2018 was a disappointment for the Vikings and no one is going to argue with that. Minnesota had Super Bowl expectations and instead of coming close to meeting them, they just fell flat on their face and missed the playoffs.

No one has to tell the Vikings how disappointing 2018 was though. They are all fully aware of the potential their team had last season and the opportunity they squandered.

But Minnesota gets a clean slate for 2019 and it sounds like a lot of their players are looking forward to a bit of redemption this season. The Vikings certainly have many more doubters this year and sometimes the goal of proving people wrong is the best motivation anyone can have.

In the past, some of Minnesota’s best seasons have come when they haven’t really been included in the list of championship contenders (see 1998, 2009, 2017). Some believe the Vikings can be decent this year, even possibly win the NFC North. But there are very few who have them as a true Super Bowl favorite this season.

Will Minnesota turn this lack of confidence from outside their locker room into another successful year in 2019? They certainly have the talent to go on an impressive run and remind everyone why they were selected as a Super Bowl contender prior to last season.
