5. Kyle Rudolph – TE

The tight end landscape in fantasy football is a bit of a conundrum. Outside of the top three guys, the waters become very mucky and hard to project how it will layout.

Kyle Rudolph finished as the eighth overall tight end last year, and by all accounts, that appears to be a successful season for fantasy football players. But taking a closer look, Rudolph had only one game with over 100 yards receiving and only one matchup with double-digit touchdowns, each of which came during the same game.

It was tough sailing for fantasy football teams that tried to figure out when to start Rudolph, as he had a difficult time reaching over 600 yards and he muddled together just four touchdowns on the year.

Looking ahead to the 2019 season, we may be looking at a potential tight end sleeper. A lot of fantasy football owners are writing off Rudolph this year with the Vikings drafting Irv Smith Jr., but the team’s new offense will find a way to get both of these guys involved in each game and Rudolph should be the benefactor of that.

According to FantasyPros, Rudolph is the 17th ranked tight end this year, and you can expect him to outperform those ranks this year.
