4. Kirk Cousins – QB

Kirk Cousins was a bit of a headache to roster in fantasy football last year. The inconsistency of production made it hard to figure out which weeks to start him.

For instance, in games against teams like the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, and New York Jets, fantasy owners were expecting big games from Cousins. That was not the case as he failed to reach 250 passing yards in all three of those games and he failed to reach 200 yards in one of them.

There was a lot that could have played a factor in the inconsistent play from Cousins last season. The unfortunate and unexpected death of the Vikings offensive line coach Tony Sparano played a large role in that offensive line struggling. Also, the change in offensive coordinators does not help with continuity on the offense.

Even with all those big changes, he was still able to throw for nearly 4,300 yards and 30 touchdowns while only throwing 10 interceptions.

The fumbles are where he will need to clean up on the turnovers. Though, with the changes to Minnesota’s offensive line, he should be protected more this year.

Cousins is currently ranked as the 19th overall quarterback by FantasyPros. Expect him to end the 2019 season better than that and help fantasy owners reap the rewards for drafting him late.
